A biopic based on the life of George Floyd is officially in the works. The film, titled Daddy Changed the World, is authorized by Floyd's family and is based on the Amazon bestseller They're Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd by Liz Collins. The film will be directed by Preston Holmes and will star LaKeith Stanfield as Floyd.
The film will tell the story of Floyd's life, from his childhood in Houston, Texas, to his death in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2020. The film will also explore the impact of Floyd's death on the Black Lives Matter movement and the ongoing fight for racial justice in America.
The film is expected to be released in 2025.
